Ringabel (Bravely Default)
(Large spoiler warning for Square Enix’s Bravely Default. If you haven’t played the game, this may not make much sense.) Ringabel is the suave, womanising third party member from Bravely Default. Originally starting the game with amnesia, he is slowly revealed to be an alternate version of the dark knight Alternis Dim.
One of the most unique aspects of Bravely Default is that all four of the main characters could be considered the main character. Ringabel is especially unique in this aspect due to the fact he is a solely unique character in a game full of alternate realities. The villain of the game, Auroboros, travels to alternate realities in order to destroy them and move on to the next. The other three heroes, Edea, Tiz, and Agnes, consistently fail to stop the villain in each reality. However, in one reality, Ringabel fell through to another reality and joined the three heroes. This shift in the pattern of events gave the team the power they needed to defeat Auroboros. While promotional material depicts Agnes or Tiz as the main character, Ringabel is the sole catalyst that initiates the story, and acts as an essentially random element that the villain can not predict.
